What to do when the Passion declines…

August 27, 2012 in Church, Ministry

Ministry work, while fulfilling, can take its toll over time.  We work so fervently for the Lord and don’t take the time to take care of ourselves.  Taking care of ourselves can be many things we take for granted or get too busy to maintain. Our personal devotion time begins to slack off, we begin to look at the efforts of OTHERS as substandard and we begin to just go through the motions believing showing up is half the battle and we can cruise from there because we’ve been doing this for so long.

There is a fantastic article here entitled 6 Signs You May Be Losing Your Passion. Ron Cross presents an in depth peek into the acts of falling into a routine and merely going through the motions, when it’s Worship that is called for.

His signs give us the opportunity to self evaluate, before we find ourselves and our work being evaluated by outsiders ( i.e. supervisors, leaders, and the congregations we serve.)

Where is your level of passion currently?  Are there steps needed to reignite that passion in order to bring your best to Christ?  Let me know what you do when you feel you need a pick me up.
